Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the President of the United States of America on January 20, 2025, at noon. After months of dread since election day, the nightmare has officially begun. It hasn’t even been 12 hours, and I am already terrified for the next four years.

While Trump has spewed plenty of harmful rhetoric and enacted numerous harmful policies in his previous tenure, let’s focus on the fresh wounds inflicted on women and the LGBTQIA+ community since his return to power. Brace yourselves, because here’s the damage report:

• Gutting Federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Guidelines – Trump wasted no time revoking these essential policies, effectively dismantling efforts to address systemic inequities in the workplace and public sector.
• Reinstating a Ban on Trans Individuals in Military Service – In a repeat of his earlier discriminatory stance, he’s barred trans people from serving in the military, erasing hard-won progress for inclusion and equality.
• Reducing Gender to a Binary – By publicly declaring that there are only “two genders: male and female,” Trump has invalidated countless identities and perpetuated harmful, outdated stereotypes.
• Eliminating ReproductiveRights.gov – With the removal of this critical website, access to vital information about healthcare and reproductive rights has been obliterated, leaving women and marginalized communities in the lurch.

As if this wasn’t enough, tech billionaires are already cozying up to Trump, consolidating power in ways that could suppress access to accurate news and essential resources. This isn’t just a political shift; it’s a full-scale attack on truth, rights, and democracy.

While I haven’t been the most consistent blogger in the past, that changes now. Silence is no longer an option. We are in this fight together, and I won’t stop amplifying the voices of those Trump’s administration seeks to silence.
